Coconut "Bacon"

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups unsweetened shredded coconut flakes
  • 2 tbsp tamari or soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tsp liquid smoke

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper optional
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the coconut flakes, tamari or soy sauce, maple syrup, and liquid smoke. Toss well to coat the coconut.
  3. Spread the coconut mixture evenly on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 12-15 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the coconut is golden brown and crispy. Keep a close eye on it to avoid burning.
  5. Let it cool slightly before using it as a topping for your soup or adding to salads, tacos, or avocado toast!
